We are governed by a board of Trustees with a wealth of varied experience in international development, fundraising, charity finance, and commerce. The board meets quarterly and is responsible for agreeing our strategy, ensuring financial accountability and best practice in governance, and deciding upon the allocation of funds to our partners in Africa based upon the recommendations of our projects team.

PHIL WALL, CO-FOUNDER & TRUSTEE, VOLUNTEER
Phil is an experienced executive coach and provides the team with invaluable strategic and creative input alongside his wife Wendy, who is also one of our founders. He is always keen to network with potential supporters and looks for innovative new ways to raise money for WeSeeHope following the huge success of the ‘1010 Challenge’.
WENDY WALL, CO-FOUNDER & TRUSTEE, VOLUNTEER
Wendy was instrumental in creating the first ‘1010 Challenge’ which raised £2 million and led to the formation of the organisation. Wendy brings a wealth of experience to the team and is a member of our Project Sub-Committee, offering guidance on the strategic planning and monitoring of our projects.
MARK GLEN, CEO
Mark is responsible for the overall strategy, governance, finance and operation of WeSeeHope. He works closely with the UK team and many of our corporate supporters, whilst also supporting our Africa Director, Oswald, with the monitoring and evaluation of our projects during regular visits to Southern and Eastern Africa.

OSWALD MALUNDA, AFRICA DIRECTOR
Based in Tanzania, Oswald manages WeSeeHope’s project partnerships across Southern and Eastern Africa as part of our Programmes team. As a trained social worker with over twenty years of hands-on community development experience in Africa, he is fundamental to the success of our project partnerships.
CERIE KENNEDY, DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Cerie is responsible for the financial management of the organisation. She works closely with Mark and the Trustees to ensure that WeSeeHope runs smoothly with all the challenges of unpredictable income streams and fluctuating exchange rates.

LIZZIE WINTER (NEE HAGGIE), HEAD OF PROGRAMMES AND STRATEGY
Lizzie oversees the management of WeSeeHope‘s project partners with Oswald and runs our Village Investors Programme (VIP). She develops and governs our Africa strategy and growth plan, travelling regularly to monitor the projects, meet our beneficiaries and provide technical support to our project partners.

SOPHIE NEWSHAM, PROGRAMME COORDINATOR
Sophie supports the overall management of our projects in Southern and Eastern Africa, assisting with the monitoring and evaluation through field visits and report assessments. In particular, she is responsible for the collation, governance and analysis of the data from our Village Investors Programme (VIP) and managing our Scholarship Programme.

SHEILA IMMACULATE KENGINGO, COUNTRY MANAGER (UGANDA)
Sheila is based in Kampala, Uganda, and oversees our project partners there as part of the Programmes team. She builds staff capacity, monitors activities, helps with reports and proposals, and resolves any issues. Sheila first met WeSeeHope in 2009 when she received a scholarship from us; she worked with one of our project partners for nine years before taking on her full-time role with us.
SHADRACK MUTHAMA, COUNTRY MANAGER (KENYA)
Shadrack is based in Nairobi and works as part of the Programmes team to oversee our project partners in Kenya. He builds staff capacity, monitors activities, helps with reports and proposals, and resolves any issues. Shadrack first met WeSeeHope in July 2010 through our project partner ANPPCAN Kenya and became a permanent member of the WeSeeHope team in November 2017.
KATHERINE CHELSOM-PILL, SENIOR FUNDRAISING MANAGER
Katherine oversees and manages key income streams for WeSeeHope, in particular our fundraising and supporter events, many of our key corporate partnerships and our community fundraising activities. Katherine is responsible for delivery of income targets that mean we can fulfil our commitments to the projects we work with, and her passion means that she is always looking for new fundraising avenues, ways to improve our overall effectiveness and exceed our targets.

MILLIE WALSH, FUNDRAISING EXECUTIVE
Community fundraising is a key part of WeSeeHope’s income and Millie builds and maintains partnerships with schools, churches and community groups. She also supports the committed individuals who take on fundraising for us by cycling, running, cooking, walking, skydiving…! She works closely with Katherine to assist with our fundraising events and plays a vital role in inspiring people to support WeSeeHope with her endless enthusiasm.

JESS EASTWOOD, OFFICE COORDINATOR
Jess manages our databases, facilitates a lot of our communication with donors, supports the WeSeeHope fundraising team and coordinates support field trips to our project partners in Southern and Eastern Africa. She does a wonderful job making sure the office runs smoothly at all times and that the team has the regular supply of tea and coffee needed to keep us all happy!

CHRISTOF MAJER, FOUNDER OF WESEEHOPE GERMANY
Christof met WeSeeHope when he took up the 1010 Challenge with 1,000 colleagues at his company’s annual conference. He was compelled to establish a fundraising arm for our work in Germany after visiting our projects on an epic cycling challenge across Malawi. He engaged Tobias Lowenthal and Gordon Salzmann to join his team, and they officially launched in 2015. www.WeSeeHope.de

KRISTINA ARNOLD, CHAIR OF WESEEHOPE SWEDEN
Kristina became Chair of WeSeeHope Sweden in April 2018. WeSeeHope Sweden was set up by her colleague, Annette, when she came to visit our work in Tanzania on a trip organised by her company. Inspired by what she saw, she committed to build support for our cause in Sweden, recruiting colleagues as board and team members, and they officially established WeSeeHope Sweden in September 2015. www.WeSeeHope.se

JULIE WHIPPLE, CHAIR OF WESEEHOPE USA
Through her company’s partnership with WeSeeHope, and her role as CSR Director there, Julie has travelled to see our work in Malawi and Tanzania, and rolled out a number of company-wide fundraising and engagement initiatives on our behalf. Increasingly seeing an opportunity to extend support for our cause in the US, Julie established WeSeeHope USA in 2016.
