MEET OUR TEAM
We are based in the UK, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya, and have international offices in Germany and the USA.
With over 12 years’ experience as COO of a retail business and from running his own company for a decade, Mark brings extensive leadership, business strategy and growth skills to his role. Pairing this background with his interests in human rights and working with children, Mark joined the WeSeeHope team as CEO in 2005. In his role, he loves seeing, experiencing and developing the whole WeSeeHope picture.
Oswald has a masters in Development Administration, conducting his research on the impact of HIV and AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa, and is a trained social worker, bringing extensive expertise and technical guidance to our programmes and partnerships. He joined the WeSeeHope team in 2008 after managing and developing women and children focused projects with two of our in-country partners in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Blantyre, Malawi. Oswald enjoys seeing positive change in the lives of the children we support, their households and communities.
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Cerie has a background as a Qualified Chartered Accountant working in both the corporate sector and the NHS. During her training, she specialised in dealing with small business and charity clients and wanted to work with an organisation that focused on vulnerable children and entrepreneurship. After joining the team in 2014, she has enjoyed getting involved in WeSeeHope events and visiting our partners in Zimbabwe in 2016.

HEAD OF PROGRAMMES & STRATEGY
Spending time volunteering in Kenya and Tanzania helped cement Lizzie’s desire to work for a charity focused in those countries. She joined the WeSeeHope team in 2012, helping to grow our programmes and partnerships, and was key in introducing our Village Investors Programme (VIP) in 2014. In her role, Lizzie stays busy governing our programme strategy whilst building relationships with our partners, problem solving and providing them with technical support.

SHEILA IMMACULATE KENGINGO
UGANDA COUNTRY MANAGER
Sheila has a masters degree in Human Rights, specialising in child rights, a degree in Social Work and Administration, and a Law diploma. She initially worked for our partner, RIDE, in Uganda for eight years as a manager for projects that promoted and protected child rights and social accountability. Sheila joined the WeSeeHope team in 2016, and her community empowerment and project planning skills help to guide and develop our partnerships in Uganda and our wider programmes work.
KENYA COUNTRY MANAGER
Shadrack brings ten years’ experience implementing child rights projects in Nairobi, Kenya, and is a trained social worker. He was working with our partner, ANPPCAN, in Kenya developing child rights initiatives and supervising the introduction of village savings and loans groups when he found out about WeSeeHope, and joined the team in 2017. His favourite part of the role is building our partners’ capacity in Kenya and seeing the impact we have together on vulnerable children.
SENIOR PROGRAMME MANAGER
After completing a masters in Global Development and Africa, Sophie went on to various roles within the International Development sector before joining WeSeeHope in 2015. She’s experienced in monitoring and evaluation and is passionate about programmes being led by communities and implemented by local organisations. She loves travelling to the communities and seeing our work in action – especially a VIP meeting!

SYLVIA KADER HERRERA
Sylvia has a masters in Emerging Economies and Inclusive Development, which she gained after working in the corporate sector and realising her interests lay in development. She joined WeSeeHope in 2019 and supports the monitoring and evaluation of our programmes. She really enjoys working on collating and analysing the impact data from our VIP and the data collected through our other programmes.
HEAD OF FUNDRAISING
After studying International Communications and taking part in a research internship in Uganda analysing the impact of organisations, Katherine saw first hand the importance of community ownership in making programmes sustainable. She joined the WeSeeHope team in 2014, bringing event and fundraising experience from major UK charities to her role in which she is responsible for the strategic growth of our income. She works closely with our corporate partners and collaborates with our supporters through our Ambassador Programme.

EVENTS & PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER
After studying economics, Jess worked in Kampala, Uganda, with an organisation that helped communities to develop stable ways to support themselves. With this experience and a long standing interest in sustainable development, she was drawn to our work with savings and loans groups and joined the team in 2017. Today Jess manages all of our WeSeeHope events and challenges – from bike rides and golf days to dinners and pub quizzes. She also works closely with our corporate partners to help them put on events and challenges of their own. As an avid rower and cyclist, Jess loves motivating our supporters so they can make the most of their fundraising.

After studying Geography at university, Nazia volunteered with two NGOs in Spain; one helping migrants who had fled from political unrest find financial independence and access education, and the other enhancing the innovation of sustainable living solutions. Following this, she planned and implemented several community sustainability projects in a large London borough, networking with local companies and delivering educational and engaging workshops. Passionate about charity work, equality and cultural diversity, Nazia joined the WeSeeHope team in 2022 to work hand-in-hand with our valued community and individual supporters, and to help produce our key fundraising events!

HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS
After completing a degree in History, Ellie developed her marketing and PR skills at a fast-growing tech start-up. She also ran fundraising events as part of their award-winning CSR programme and produced a range of content to promote the charity partnership. Ellie joined the WeSeeHope team in 2017 to manage our brand and communications, and is focused on how to demonstrate our impact through our storytelling, data and publications.

Whilst he was studying for a masters in International Development, Jamie was involved in a research project in Botswana that highlighted to him the importance of community empowerment and inclusive development. After completing his studies, he built his experience in various roles in the international development sector before joining the WeSeeHope team in 2022. He is a firm believer in the power of storytelling and really enjoys exploring new ways to communicate our message in engaging and accessible ways.

WENDY WALL MBE
CO-FOUNDER AND TRUSTEE
Wendy’s passion for our cause was instrumental in launching WeSeeHope and creating the first ‘1010 Challenge’ which raised £2 million and led to our formation. She works as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in the NHS, and also oversees the CSR agenda of Signify Ltd where she works alongside Phil. She is a member of our Projects Sub-Committee, and brings years of experience within this role to offer guidance to the team on the strategic planning and monitoring of our programmes and partners.
In 2022, Wendy was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Years Honours List for her services to our work with vulnerable children.
PHIL WALL MBE
CO-FOUNDER AND TRUSTEE
With over 20 years’ experience as a performance coach and change consultant, Phil provides the team with invaluable strategic and creative input. He was previously a London Police Officer and worked with The Salvation Army. The bulk of his working life now is spent coaching senior leaders in business. Using his strong networking skills, he is always looking for opportunities to engage with potential supporters and explore innovative new ways to raise money for WeSeeHope. He is Chair of the Hope Classic Rally and sits on the Board of WeSeeHope USA.
In 2022, Phil was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Years Honours List for his services to our work with vulnerable children.
We are governed by a board of Trustees with a wealth of varied experience in international development, fundraising, charity finance, and commerce. The board meets quarterly and is responsible for agreeing our strategy, ensuring financial accountability and best practice in governance, and deciding upon the allocation of funds to our partners.
Our Trustees are: Alastair Mills (Chair), Adrian Gosling, Clare Chapman, Mike Adams, Peter McQuade MBE, Rachel Madeiros-Mhende, Phil Wall MBE and Wendy Wall MBE.

FOUNDER OF WESEEHOPE GERMANY
Christof met WeSeeHope when he took up the 1010 Challenge with 1,000 colleagues at his company’s annual conference. He was compelled to establish a fundraising arm for our work in Germany after visiting some of our partners on an epic cycling challenge across Malawi. CHAIR OF WESEEHOPE USA
Through her company’s partnership with WeSeeHope, and her role as CSR Director there, Julie has travelled to see our work in Malawi and Tanzania, and rolled out a number of company-wide fundraising and engagement initiatives on our behalf.
