INVESTING IN EDUCATION
Education helps every child reach their potential. It supports their wellbeing and lays the foundations for a brighter future.
Each additional year of schooling can increase a child’s future income by up to 10%, helping to lift families and entire communities out of extreme poverty (the World Bank and UNESCO).
Yet in Sub-Saharan Africa, more children are out of school than anywhere else in the world.
We’re committed to changing that – child by child, community by community – by making education a reality, not a privilege. Because when children learn, they gain the power to break the cycle of poverty and shape their own futures.
HOW WE DO IT
Our initiatives improve access to quality pre-schools, protect those at-risk of dropping out of primary school, and reduce barriers to secondary and future learning opportunities.

BUILDING PRE-SCHOOLS
We establish pre-schools in communities where early education is out of reach, and equip local teachers with the training they need to give children the strongest possible start.
SETTING UP SCHOOL & COMMUNITY CLUBS
We set up clubs that nurture emotional and social development, creating safe spaces where children can build confidence, resilience, and strong peer support, both in school and the wider community.
PROTECTING CHILDREN’S RIGHTS
We create safe, trusted systems for children to report abuse and seek justice. We train teachers and community members to recognise and respond to cases, keeping children safe, supported, and in school.
GENERATING INCOME OPPORTUNITIES
We help schools set up income generating activities to buy learning materials and uniforms for the most vulnerable, ensuring poverty doesn’t force children out of education.

INVOLVING CAREGIVERS
Through parenting clubs, we equip caregivers with practical skills, knowledge, and the confidence to prioritise education and address issues like child marriage, early pregnancy, and child labour.
IDENTIFYING THOSE AT RISK
We train local volunteers to find and support children who are missing school or on the verge of dropping out — making sure no child is left behind.

IMPROVING ENROLMENT IN TANZANIA
Since 2022, we have been working with our local partner Fanisi to support 10 primary schools in Sengerema, Tanzania. Over three years, our investments resulted in a 97% increase in the number of children enrolling at the start of each year, as well as a 96% decrease in the number of children dropping out throughout the year.
This means that our interventions to protect vulnerable children are not just getting them to school, but ensuring that they are staying and learning for longer.
