Our work across Southern and Eastern Africa is focused in hard-to-reach communities where children living in poverty are missing out on some of their fundamental rights.
In this edition, our Uganda Country Manager, Sheila, who recently visited our partner RIDE in Ntoroko – one of the most isolated districts in the country – explores the importance of our integrated education, child rights and economic programmes for vulnerable children living in such a rural area.
The newsletter also features updates from several of our incredible partners, an outline of the Child Headed Households Programme, and the impact it is having for vulnerable children like Wellos. Thanks to his thriving grocery store and mechanics business set up through the programme, he has more than tripled his income over the last year!
